Date: Saturday, 18 March 2026
Time: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
Venue: VicMob Secondary School, Ikorodu
The LifeBloom team conducted a dynamic awareness session at VicMob Secondary School from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM. We arrived early to ensure the session stayed within the allotted time, as the students had a full school day ahead.
Upon arrival, we faced an important decision: whether to engage only mature female students or include both genders. Reflecting on our past experiences, we decided to involve all students to ensure that no one felt segregated or excluded.
In total, we reached approximately 300 students, with female students outnumbering male students. The session began with an introduction to LifeBloom and its mission, followed by a thorough and interactive discussion on endometriosis, PCOS, and fibroids.
The students were incredibly engaged, and their enthusiasm was evident throughout the session. They asked numerous questions and were eager to continue learning even after the hour had ended.
We also emphasized the importance of male participation in reproductive health awareness, explaining how increased awareness could help boys support their sisters, mothers, and female peers. In addition, we discussed personal hygiene with the boys, highlighting how daily habits can affect their long-term health.
The session included a Q&A segment, where students who answered questions correctly received special gift packs. Each pack was thoughtfully assembled with five essential items, including sanitary pads, wipes, detergent, and soap.
At the end of the session, the school expressed sincere appreciation for the initiative. Some teachers also requested a future session focused on parents, recognizing the impact of the awareness campaign.
Although we had only two volunteers alongside the core team, the impact was immense. It was a wonderful outreach experience, and we left feeling inspired, knowing this is just the beginning. We look forward to the next steps in our mission to promote awareness and support healthier communities.
