Life is not to be lived in solitude, but in the company of genuinely happy people related by blood and water.
On the journey of life, at the different turns and twists, God placed people in our way.
Family, friends, mentors, neighbors, colleagues, and even strangers whose kindness at the right time and place helped us.
We can get so caught up in what is lacking, that we ignore who is present.
Do you remember the…
- Sacrifices of your parents
- Intentionality of your spouse
- friend(s) who showed up when you didn’t expect them
- sister that calls to pray for you
- Doctor that listened when others disregarded your cry of pain
- Course-mate who bought you lunch when you were overwhelmed
- The community that allows you tell your story
These relationships are gifts, not rights, or natural entitlements.
Relationships that have been a strain on us have not only taught us compassion, wisdom, boundaries and resiliency, but have also shown us that we can live with each other.
These relationships don’t have to be perfect before we are grateful for them. It is acknowledging the grace God placed in our lives by people around us.
A Simple Act of Gratitude
A simple ‘Thank you’ or a thoughtful gift could be what they need today.
Can we spend some time celebrating three (3) people who has made life a little easier?
- Send a text.
- Make a phone call.
- Write a note.
Not to assume that they know.
Here?
We show love!
We show gratitude!
